You may have not heard of "Disciples Of Ursula Big Band" yet but if you dig modern jazz music, you should give their music a listen. These local Montrealers are a talented bunch and not only do they play instruments and sing, they also write their own material and take credit for producing their first CD. Lead singer Gizelia Pacheco has a sweet voice that compliments the upbeat instrumentation on tracks such as "Catch 22," "Dancin' Fool," and "Where's Mexico." Other notable tracks are the smooth "Route 66," the mellow "Loving Soul" and the groovy self-titled track. A decent effort for a first recording. Keep an eye out for this group.
