Obie Trice / Cheers

After a successful run with 50 Cent's multi platinum album "Get Rich Or Die Tryin," Eminem now launches Obie Trice's debut album "Cheers." Produced on his record label "Shady Records," Eminem also lends his vocals to a few tracks such as "Lady" and "Hands On You." These tracks and the others mainly focus on the street life, thuggery, booze, derogatory remarks against women, basically usual fare offered up by numerous artists of this genre. "Shit Hits The Fan" features Dr. Dre and Eminem's usual angry lyrics. In fact for those of you who actually care, there is major anamocity between Ja Rule (Murder Inc.) and the group at Shady records. Word is that this song is Dre's way of getting his message across to Ja Rule. "Look In My Eyes" features Nate Dogg and "Oh" offers up vocals from Busta Rhymes. These two tracks are the better ones on the album. Obie's debut is nothing out of the ordinary. His vocals don't particularly stand out either. The guest appearances from other artists add some credibility. For those of you who would like an opportunity to spend a day with Eminem in Detroit, you will receive a card in the CD package, which includes a code that you can type in on the website to see if you are a winner.
