Old & In The Gray

Old & In The Gray has probably received more coverage by orcasound then any other media source within 100 miles of Montreal.  I hope some of you have had a chance to listen to this beautiful art form.  on the other hand, musical sub-cultures and unpopular forms of music have always been a lot more agreeable for their fans.  Bluegrass music is quite often hidden or even unavailable on several metropolitan radio dials.  The impromptu jams, lofty vocals and high degree of musicianship are overtly noticeable even by the most uninitiated ears.  As some of you may have noticed, I interviewed the founder of Old & In The Gray a week before their performance in Burlington, Vermont.  Catching these five "bluegrassers" live was an epic moment for me. The musicians in the band include: David Grisman (mandolin, vocals), Peter Rowan (guitar, vocals), Vassar Clements (fiddle, bass vocals), Herb Pedersen (banjo, guitar, vocals) and Bryn Bright (upright bass). The CD has been such a pleasure to listen to and brings me back to the "Green Mountains" of Vermont whenever I close my eyes.  The 14 tracks on the album flow effortlessly into each other.  This disc is available from acousticdisc.com if you can't find it in your local record store
