Australian grunge band Silverchair sure has come a long way from being selected as winners of a radio contest back in the early 1990's. Before the release of their debut single "Tomorrow" in 1994, the group changed their name from "Innocent Criminals" to Silverchair. The name was derived from Nirvana's "Sliver" (which was accidentally misspelled as "Silver") and You Am I's "Berlin Chair." Guitarist/vocalist Daniel Johns, bassist Chris Joannou, and drummer Ben Gillies will surprise listeners with their current album "Diorama." The sound is more mellow compared to their previous works. The first single "Across The Night" starts off with a soft rock tone to it. Guitar riffs fly on "The Greatest View." "Without You" is a cool edgy track. Other notable tunes include "World Upon Your Shoulders," "Too Much Of Not Enough," "My Favorite Thing" and "After All These Years." Check it out.
