I thoroughly enjoyed watching Hearts Of Atlantis the film and I also took great pleasure in its accompanying rich and luscious soundtrack. Four tracks are new compositions scribed by composer Mychael Danna, the remaining eight songs will bring many of you back to a time of innocence and new beginnings. All of these golden oldies date back to the 1950's and have been re-mastered and brought back to life. Whether or not you grew up listening to these songs may be a taciturn point since this album will certainly be appreciated by one and all . The older tunes are undeniable classics to be valued and treasured forever. Among my favorites are Chubby Checker's The Twist, Carol by Chuck Berry and the dreamy Sleep Walk by Santo and Johnny. The Platters are well represented on this album by three of their hits including: only You (And You Alone), Twilight Time and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. Rounding out the cast of oldies are The Crew Cuts' Sh-Boom (Life could Be A Dream) and Percy Faith's Theme From "A Summer Place." Even though the fifty's were not "my era" I found myself cruising around town in my car with the top down, holding on to the last days of summer while blaring these unforgettable songs.
