Susanne Abbuehl

You may not be familiar with singer Susanne Abbuehl but if you enjoy listening to contemporary jazz music then you may want to check out this album. She displays a strong vocal talented and is accompanied by three musicians named Wolfert Brederode (piano, harmonium), Cristof May (clarinet) and Samuel Rohrer (drums, percussion). The first tune is based o­n a poem called "Yes Is A Pleasant Country" written by E.E. Cummings. It starts of with a few eerie sounds and then enchants you with it's sweet sound. "Ida Lupino" written by Susanne begins with a haunting melody and is eased with her gentle vocals. Her musicians take center stage o­n the soft "Closer." The song "A.I.R. (All India Radio)" has a mysterious air to it. It's a unique piece. Susanne recites another poem by E.E. Cummings entitled "Seven-somewhere I have never travelled, gladly beyond."
