This sonically accurate album features 19 of Taylor's most prominent tracks and the 20th track (Bittersweet) that was recorded in February of 2003. Selected from 12 different CDs, these unforgettable songs are mostly compiled from James Taylor's association with Warner Music from 1969 to 1976. James Taylor's popularity has never faded. Taylor was nominated for a Grammy Award earlier this year and routinely sells out his concert performances. Born in Boston in 1948, Taylor has often been credited with the resurgence of the so called singer-songwriter movement in the 1970's, along with Neil Young, Cat Stevens and other illustrious musicians. Some of my favorite songs on this CD include: Sweet Baby James, Fire And Rain, You've Got A Friend, Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight, Mexico, Steamroller (live version), Your Smiling Face and Up on The Roof. I just named about half the selections from this album and even the remaining songs are very enjoyable. This is a wonderful compilation for all James Taylor fans but also for those that enjoy music that comes from the heart. James Taylor's songs are sung around camp fires, to loved ones, in the shower and anywhere people live and rejoice in life.
