Motor Cycle giant Harley Davidson has teamed up with EMI to offer up a generous serving of Southern tunes on the compilation entitled "Southern Road Songs." It is quite apparent that aside from the music, Harley is using this opportunity as a publicity stunt for the company and their latest motorcycle, the 2002 Sportster XL, featured inside the album cover. There are seventeen tracks of country tunes that will delight fans. Lynyrd Skynryd sings his 1974 tune "Sweet Home Alabama," which some of you may be familiar with. The Allman Brothers let loose on "One Way Out." The Marshall Tucker Band impresses with "Take The Highway." It's got a great flute solo halfway through the song followed by a guitar solo. Johnny Winter combines blues and country on "Mean Town Blues." Other artists you can expect to find on this compilation are Leon Russell, Freddie King, The fabulous Thunderbirds, Elvin Bishop and Molly Hatchet.
