This compilation starts off strong with tracks by Dean Martin and Ella Fitzgerald, crooners who definitely live up to the title of this disc. The album is a collection of love songs spanning the last few decades (32 tracks in total). Each song bleeds into the next as the listener is assaulted with the words "want, love, need." Halfway through the first disc you'll be rushing for the stop button just as one of the cloying, bleeding-heart lyricists sings, "something in my soul just cried, I see the want in your blue eyes" (Lobo – I'd Love You To Want Me). Some of these songs may be palatable by themselves, but track after track of sentimental oozing gives me the idea that all this love stuff is a bunch of rubbish.
