Growing up in Winterpeg…er, Winnipeg has definitely left its mark on this artist. His music is a brand of alt-country-rock that must have been shaped by living on the Canadian prairies. His music has that outdoorsy and twangy sound to it. Right away you do notice that he is a fairly accomplished guitar player. Though you may never have heard of Luke Doucet before he has been around for a while and has worked with many big Canadian artists, such as, Blue Rodeo, Sarah McLachlan, Delirium, and fellow Winnipegger Chantal Kreviazuk. He also is the frontman for the band Veal and has produced albums for several Canadian bands. I do not know when he has time to sleep! The highlights on this album include Broke Down (first single) and Brother. If you want to check him out live, he will be playing at Le Petit Campus (Café Campus) on September 30th as part of the Pop Montreal Festival.
