Let's do the time warp again! This album sounds so much like it was recorded in the 1970s that it's a little eerie. Taking the lead from such bands as The White Stripes, Wolfmother is not gonna apologize for borrowing heavily from 70s bands like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. They resurrect the heavy guitars and bass of that era in their music and couple it with the Robert Plant-like vocals of lead singer Andrew Stockdale. They play heavy rock tinged with blues and even some funk thrown in for good (or not so good) measure. This Australian trio recently played a show at Le National at the end of May and wowed the Montreal crowd.
