Sophomore album from this New York City band and they seemed to have completely changed in between recordings. Not only because their original guitarist left the band but also their sound. The album is an emotional and sonic roller coaster and I don't mean quality-wise. It sounds a little like a soundtrack for a very weird experimental film. One track might sound like circus music the next like it came from a cabaret show and the next spoken word. Unlike your typical alternative band, The Fever use odd instrumentation on this album (xylophone, organ, marimba); they definitely are open to experimentation. What stands out the most for me on the album is the high level drumming by Achilles Tzoulafis.
