On this follow-up to their successful debut album, Australian rockers Jet have stayed the course of being a band that sounds like they are stuck in a 70s time warp. Their sound really appeals to the 30-somethings that grew up on this type of rock 'n roll and have been waiting patiently for it to come back into style. Jet sound like a weird mixture of The Beatles, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, and The Rolling Stones all rolled into one new package. Despite the fact that they are 'borrowing' their sound from many a band of that decade they somehow manage to make it sound fresh. The songs are all high energy, fun and catchy. Unfortunately due to the emphasis on vocals and guitars the other instruments are kinda left in the background. They have not strayed far from the sound they introduced to us on their first album and now I am ready for something a little different.
