This weekend the Salon de la Beauté Montréal 2004 has taken over the Palais des Congrés and has filled it to the brim with everything related to beauty from the newest products and services to scores of stunning models sporting professional hair creations along with today's hottest fashions.Produced by the Allied Beauty Association, the Salon has something for everyone: tanning beds, nail art, body jewelry, professional scissors and hair care aids, and of course, the newest hair products, styles and techniques, demonstrated by Montréal's hottest stylists. Stylist Stéphane Legros, of PURE Coiffure, who is representing REDKEN, sums up this year's styles as dramatic, colourful, graphic, and dynamic, with a two dimensional feel and a lot of play between lights and darks. Featuring long, sleek A-symmetrical cuts, shorter textured, point-cut bobs, and extreme, shaved "tattoo – like" designs, in bold colour combinations of black, platinum, yellow, red and hot pinks, it is clear just how fashion forward Montréal continues to be.The clothing was the other highlight of the REDKEN show, with models' decked out in cutting edge couture. Pleather, fishnet, pointed toe stilettos, fluorescent colours and striking black and white patterns with strong retro influences of the 1950's and 80's made for an eye catching show! As model Richard Rogers put it, "anyone can have a hairdo, anyone can have a style of dress, but it's really all about having the attitude to pull it all together to give one final slap in the face to the viewer." With the strength of the cuts and colours in both hair and clothing this year, attitude really is what it's all about. Also represented at the Salon with major displays and shows were Alphaparf Milano, Farouk, Framesi, Iso, Joico, L'Oréal, Matrix, Nioxin, Paul Mitchell, Quantum Micro-V, Rusk, Schwarzkopf Professional, Senscience, Vision Plus, and Wella as well as educational and product stands by a host of others.Keep and eye out for more on the hottest new fashion, make-up and hair trends from the Salon de la Beauté Montréal 2004 in the upcoming weeks.
