I have never really understood the term 'chick flicks' so it is with a heavy heart that I listened to this CD. I have now grasped that every slow song ever recorded has found its way onto the soundtrack of a so-called "chick flick". Such forgettable numbers as Seal's "This Could Be Heaven" from "Family Man", Ronan Keating's "When You Say Nothing At All" from "Notting Hill", All Saints' "Pure Shores" from "The Beach", and Faith Hill's "You Were There" from "Pearl Harbor". There are some more worthwhile numbers like Sarah Mclachlan's "Angel" from "City of Angels" and Prince's "Purple Rain" from "Purple Rain". Most of the music is light fluff. Even if I accept the label 'chick flick' I certainly don't remember "Purple Rain" or "The Beach" falling into this category.
