Formed in 1972 in Pasadena, California this quartet has been a major force in the hard rock arena for 30 years. Despite a number of personnel changes (David Lee Roth out, Sammy Hagar in, Sammy Hagar out, David Lee Roth in, David Lee Roth out, Mitch Malloy in, Mitch Malloy out, Gary Cherone in, Gary Cherone out, Sammy Hagar in, Sammy Hagar out, David Lee Roth in) and changes in the music world the band has been able to sell more than 80 million records over that time. That's no chump change, folks! Despite the fact that they have not released an album of original material since 1998 (a new studio album is slated for a 2008 release) the band still manages to fill arenas wherever they tour.
When the tour hits Montreal it will be the first time in 23 years that the band has toured with lead singer David Lee Roth. Long-time bassist Michael Anthony has also been replaced with Eddie Van Halen's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang. It will be quite a unique experience to see father and son sharing the stage plus the fact that Eddie is one of the better guitarists around. Despite this pseudo new look you can expect the tried and true hits, such as "Jump", "You Really Got Me", "Pretty Woman", and "Panama", that you've come to know and love. It should be a fun-filled night of arena rock and sing-a-longs.
