New Orleans native Dr. John was so affected by what happened during and after the flooding in Louisiana a few years back that this album is a product of those emotions. It is powerful stuff and the ravaged city is paid tribute to by this talented musician. We get much insight into what happened or didn't happen in post-Katrina New Orleans. He does not hold back in regards to saying what he feels (and it all isn't pretty) and makes great music to boot. It takes a rare talent to accomplish this.
He and his band are joined by such prestigious fellow musicians as Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Terence Blanchard, and Ani Difranco.
