Together through thick and thin (read drug addictions) American hard rock band Stone Temple Pilots were together from 1986 until 2003. Due to lead singer Scott Weiland's frequent arrests, rehab stints and his inability to kick drugs the band broke up under all that pressure. Weiland went on to become a member of Velvet Revolver, but after another arrest they too broke up. Well, guess what…Stone Temple Pilots have reformed and are touring again as a band in 2008. Stay tuned for updates!
The band's worldwide popularity is indisputable with them having sold over 40 million albums. Watching Stone Temple Pilots is like reliving the rock heydays of the 1960s and 70s. They lead the rock star lives with sex, drugs and rock 'n roll being in the forefront. The band's music is rock solid. They have won Grammy Awards and play sold out shows worldwide. Playing a mix of modern and 1970s rock what you get as a result is a larger than life brand of arena rock. It is loud, sexy and hyper masculine.
Despite all his problems you can see the attraction to lead man Scott Weiland. He is the modern day Mick Jagger with his lithe body writhing around the stage and causing the women to scream and men dream of being him. He is a top notch showman. Live you will be treated to their hits such as "Plush", "Creep", "Interstate Love Song", "Sour Girl", and hopefully some new songs they are recording for an album due out this winter.
