For the next 12 days the 37th annual Nouveau Cinema Film Festival will bring some of the best and most compelling films of the year. Big name films like Atom Egoyan's "Adoration", Madonna's "Filth and Wisdom", Steve McQueen's "Hunger", and Barbet Shroeder's "Inju, The Beast in the Shadow". Films with standout performances like Anne Hathaway in "Rachel Getting Married", Jean-Claude Van Damme in "JCVD" and Brendan Gleeson in "The Tiger's Tale". Great Canadian representation in the form of films like Justin Simms's "Down to the Dirt", Kari Scogland's "Fifty Dead Men Walking" and Deepa Mehta's "Heaven on Earth". If all this quality doesn't excite you then I suggest you check your pulse as you might not have one.
Film is not all that Nouveau Cinema is about. There are master classes with the likes of Ken Scott and Jerome Beaujour, cocktail parties, musical events, explorations, and encounters. It will be twelve days of don't pause to take a breath or you will miss something that you regret. Live life without any regrets. Oh, and get your tickets for Nouveau cinema right now!
