Canadian Open Championships – Short Track Speed Skating Preview

Short track speed skating has always been an event that Canada has excelled at during the Winter Olympics and other competitions and the best in Canada are coming to Montreal this coming weekend for an important competition. The 64 top skaters in Canada will be here to prepare for the upcoming World Championships. These two events will decide who is on the Canadian Olympic team for Vancouver 2010.

It is an opportunity to see the up and coming and established stars of short track speed skating. Skaters participating include: On the women's side – Kalyna Roberge of Quebec, Marie-Andrée Mendes-Campeau of Quebec, Marianne St-Gelais of Quebec, and Anne Maltais of Quebec and on the men's side – Charles Hamelin of Quebec, Remi Beaulieu of Quebec, Olivier Jean of Quebec, and Michael Gilday of the North West Territories.
