Gob has always been recognized as Canada's original pop punkers. Brewing goofy, upbeat and infectious songs since 1994, these guys don't do it any other way. Until now… This time around, the boys have matured. Like its namesake, "Muertos Vivos" is a little bit darker than what we're used to from Gob. The sound is a richer, more creative blend of rock and punk, along with some distinct metal riffs. Fear not: Gob's signature pop sound can still be heard, it's just become a whole lot better. Gob has attempted to deal with serious subject matter such as war, death and depression. While the lyrics may not be as deep as some other political punk bands, it's definitely a huge departure from earlier songs about "Soda" and girls named "Ellen". Overall, this is quite an impressive album!
