Montreal-based The National Parcs are an odd yet highly interesting trio. On their last album they used samples from the great outdoors, such as the sound of wood splitting, water dripping and paddles hitting the water. Nothing is too odd for these cats. They combine these odd samples with the groovy beats of hip hop, Afrobeat and funk. You won't be able to resist the urge to dance one you hear these guys' music.
While a little bit left of center (I'm not saying that that is a bad thing) the band is highly entertaining live. Chimwmewe Miller plays drums and also does some fantastic beatboxing. Ian Cameron is dubbed the 'director' as he will treat your eyes to some spectacular videos/visuals. Vincent Letellier is the lyricist and multi-instrumentalist of the band. Several of the members have BFAs from Concordia University, so they are a highly artistic and visual band.
