For me a good album, no matter the style of music, relies on three things: a good voice, strong lyrics and a couple of catchy hooks. Unfortunately this album has none of the three. There are two lead vocalists in Pushing Red Buttons, Rich Gaglia and Dave Clark, and while neither is a strong singer the talk/sing style of Gaglia is especially grating. In regards to the lyrics I think we can all do without a song about Frankenstein and burning torches. Any good riffs they have appear and then disappear just as quickly to be replaced by cats meowing or the like. They try to be like some of those odd little 70s bands, but don't quite make it.
