Each of the songs on the album can be taken as a separate entity. They all tell a complete story. We are brought along with Lou Cowell on a mellow and personal voyage that spans many of the events of her life. It's almost as if she is reading her diary aloud to you…set to music. There certainly is a juxtaposition between the forthrightness of the lyrics and the softness of the music. It works, though. Nothing artificial about this indie artist. You should especially pay attention to the songs "Hold Down the Sun" and "Just Like Me", which are the two strongest songs on the album.
