British and American partnerships work…for a while anyways…and then for the reunion tour…hopefully. Starting in 1967 Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Lindsay Buckingham) became one of the more successful bands in rock music. Despite the roster changes (and there were many) and the marriages amongst members (there were a couple) and subsequent divorces (again a couple) they kept plugging away. As of 1991 the band kind of broke up, though still playing a few concerts and recording an album or two, so this is seen as a reunion tour with all the main members except for Christine McVie.
They started off as a blues band then during the 70s they became a more traditional rock band. Though huge in Europe during this time their mainstream success in the United States only came after 1975, when Americans Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined the group. They had hit after hit with their White Album and Rumors.
Infighting and drug and alcohol abuse amidst the members led to Nicks and Buckingham recording solo albums and not giving their full concentration to the band. It is an exciting prospect to see this band together playing live. They have billed this tour as a greatest hits tour, so expect to hear "Landslide", "Dreams", "Don't Stop", and "Go Your Own Way". It is certainly going to be a night to remember.
