To really announce the arrival of summer the Virgin Festival will kick off the music festival season with a bang this weekend. The Virgin Festival (run by the people at Virgin Mobile) has been put on for the past 13 years in the UK and for the last couple of years in Canada. It has expanded this year to include a stop in Montreal.
Outdoors onstage at Parc Jean Drapeau musical acts like Black Eyed Peas, New Kids on the Block, Hedley, Simple Plan, David Usher, Live, and Eva Avila will be performing. Around the festival grounds there will be food, art, merchandise, autograph tents, drink tent, and a Bacardi Breezer docking-bar.
One dollar from each ticket or pass will be donated to Virgin Unite, which is a charitable arm of Virgin.
