Each year (this being the fourth edition) the Osheaga music and arts festival has grown. Starting off in 2006 with 25,000 attendees and having more and more people turn onto what they are doing, Osheaga has now become that last big music festival of the summer in Montreal.
For its two days it presents an eclectic lineup of musicians and several art exhibits all on the beautiful grounds of Parc Jean Drapeau. Musicians who have performed at Osheaga in the past include Sam Roberts, The Flaming Lips, Ben Harper, Duffy, Sonic Youth, Brazilian Girls, k-os, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Damian Rice. You can see that they don't accommodate only one musical taste, but really branch out to try to attract all music lovers. Unfortunately, the headline act for the second night this year, The Beastie Boys, had to cancel due to health issues, but the lineup still looks stellar. This year's acts include Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Arctic Monkeys, Rufus Wainwright, The Roots, and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. You will also get a chance to discover your new favourite band from amongst bands like Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Montreal's own Beast, La Roux, The Ting Tings, and Canadian sensation K'Naan.
With four stages that feature music going continuously from 2 pm to 11 pm each day this is a music lovers paradise.
