Loudon Wainwright III Concert Preview

The father of Martha and Rufus and the former husband of Anna McGarrigle is a fine folk singer in his own right. An American born in 1946, Loudon's music career began in the 1960s when he began playing guitar in folk clubs. Carving a niche for himself in the folk music arena, Loudon during the 1970s was dubbed 'the next Bob Dylan', a fact he made fun of in a later song.

His career has spanned over 40 years and he has recorded over 20 albums during that time. He has also received 2 Grammy nominations.

Besides music he is also an accomplished actor appearing in films like "Big Fish", "The Aviator" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" as well as several episodes of the iconic television series "M*A*S*H". He also contributed music to the soundtrack of the Judd Apatow film "Knocked Up".
