If you are in the mood for quirky, cabaret-styled pop music then hustle your buns on over to La Tulipe to catch Canada's own Hawksley Workman live. A respected musician he not only writes and records his own music, but has produced albums for the likes of Serena Ryder, Great Big Sea, Tegan and Sara, and Sarah Slean.
A talented singer/songwriter Workman can also play several different instruments (piano, guitar, drums, bass) and has been known to switch between them during his live shows. He also is able to write songs in his sleep, or so it seems, as he is so prolific, so I would not be surprised if he has a few new ones to test out at La Tulipe.
Armed with a large catalogue of songs from the eleven albums, with the latest being 2010's "Meat", he has released over his career there will be plenty of fun and highlights during a show by this artist.
