Against Me!

With its bouncy rock melodies, pounding piano work and sing-along whoa-ao choruses, Against Me's latest CD is a fun one. Long time fans might not be happy with all this fun, though. It is less raw and rough than their previous outings. They have dropped their punk rock attitude (singing about things that make them mad) and sound for a more poppy one filled with harmonies. Are they going for mainstream success? Who knows, but it certainly is different from their previous efforts. They are no longer that edgy band that won fans over by the handfuls on Van Warped tours. Against Me! has gone a more polished and pop route with "White Crosses" and that might piss fans off. But the new sound might move more CDs for them as it is more mainstream. What to choose, what to choose…
