This debut album has been highly anticipated. The previous stuff we have heard from him have been smashes and so critics and fans alike were wondering what Bruno Mars could do over the long haul of an album. Bruno Mars was introduced to us by being featured on the B.O.B. single "Nothin' On You". Then he went on to star on the Travie McCoy "Billionaire" track, which was also a big hit. It demonstrated very clearly that the man knew how to sing a hook. His smooth voice (which has shades of Michael Jackson in it) really lends itself to the R&B genre. Mars continues impressing with this album. Not only showing his vocal range, but also that he can write lyrics and is quite flexible in the styles of music he is comfortable in. He mixes soul with reggae and pop and seems to do it with ease. The first single "Just the Way You Are" is already a hit and the second release "Grenade" is climbing the charts as well. Seems like we (and Bruno Mars) have a winner here.
