Found in a vault somewhere, these are 10 previously unreleased tracks from the legendary Ray Charles. Producer John Burk cleaned them up and they were packaged. They were recorded over a span of 30 years from the 1970s until the 1990s. Additional musicians were called in to provide some back up, but you would never really have known the recording process unless you were told that is how good they sound. Stylistically the album falls somewhere in the middle of adult contemporary and R&B. Unlike other prerecorded songs that are released after the death of the artist they sound totally unrelated. That is not the case here as they all mesh together. Love is the backdrop to all the songs. Plus there is that soul drenched voice tying it all into a nice little package. That voice really is a gift in that seemingly effortlessly can put the emotion and intensity required into each and every song. The ending is perfect with a track that features Charles and Johnny Cash pairing up on a Gospel/country ditty that is quite moving.
