During the middle of the night a bunch of college students get in a car accident and they are stranded in the middle of nowheresville. They search for a house or something with a phone and discover what appears to be an abandoned lab. The lab is in the middle of a forest and has high security fences around it. Despite this the kids all break in. Once inside they find the hallways of the building filled with dead bodies. Still they forge on in their search for a phone and in their travels through the building they come across The Sleeper (Mihai Stanescu – works mainly as a make-up artist). It is a human male in an isolation chamber who has been kept in a coma state. Medical student Jay (Tara Reid – Van Wilder, American Pie) loses her brother and tries to get to the bottom of the mystery of this man in a coma. By looking into the files, she discovers that he was a crazed killer who was believed to be able to dream his way into peoples' minds. Once they fall asleep the group is transformed one by one into bloodthirsty killers. The remaining few try to stay awake and get out alive.
Plenty 'o blood and gore in this straight-to-video production. There are plenty of cheesy moments, crappy dialogue and acting in the film. Yet somehow you find yourself persevering to the end. It falls into that fun it was so bad it was good category. Perfect kind of scary movie to pop into the DVD player when you have a bunch of friends over and want to watch something scary that you don't have to pay much attention to. Will also give you some laughs in parts.
