Roger Hodgson: Take The Long Way Home – Live in Montreal

This past June at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier at Place des Arts right here in Montreal legendary Supertramp frontman Roger Hodgson played to a full house. Well, this concert has been captured on video for this DVD release. The concert was recorded using 10 cameras so you really get the feeling that you are watching it from the front row. It is an interesting watch to see one of the most distinctive voices in rock music instead of just listening to him.

Hodgson has been recording with Supertramp since 1969 and then later as a solo artist. As a result he has quite a repertoire of recognizable tunes. His songs (as he wrote most of the Supertramp hits) have that ability to put a smile on your face and the lyrics touch your heart. He also moved effortlessly between playing his 12-string guitar to the piano showing his strengths as a composer and arranger.

With the extensive amount of bonus features, it is also a nice look at the man behind the voice as the DVD shows Hodgson's warm and humourous sides.
