Roch Voisine Concert Preview

Born in 1963 in Edmunstun, New Brunswick Roch Voisine is an Acadian performer who is able to sing in both of Canada’s official languages.  Through his career this multi-talented performer has done singing, acting, and hosted program on the radio and television.  Voisine won the Juno Award in 1994 for Male Vocalist of the Year and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1997.  He now splits his time between Montreal and Paris.

His music career began in 1986 from the humble beginnings of singing O Canada in front of 50,000 at La Ronde amusement park.  He shot to stardom in Quebec and then Canada with the release in 1989 of his album Helene.  The album was also a success in France, Belgium and Switzerland.  His English recordings have been staples on adult contemporary radio stations ever since.

On television Voisine hosted the program Top Jeunesse on TQS and starred in Lance et Compte as Dany Ross on CBC in 1989.
