Total feel-good album! Music of the type that you will be humming it while strolling around. Don’t get me wrong, there are some lows to be found here though they are usually offset by some soaring highs. The energy is always high and just threatens of getting out of control without ever doing so. Filled with joie de vivre are these Brits and one Swede. In their few dark moments they dare to musically investigate such subjects as philosophy, science and the end of the world as we know it. Bravely going where most don’t even dare. Even though they are a fairly young band (this is only their second album) they have recorded an album filled with strong tracks featuring plenty of layers. At times while listening to Rooms Filled With Light I was brought back to the New Wave bands of the 1980s. The synths, strings and horn section all add up to a very “big” sound. It also modernizes all that 80s undercurrant. Their base, however, is indie pop a la Arcade Fire.
