Rihanna Will Put on a Show

rihanna live3The 25-year-old from Barbados has become one of the heavy hitters on the pop charts the last couple of years. Signed to the Def Jam label at the age of 16 and put under the guidance of none other than Jay Z her career has been a series of successes. From her 2005 hit “Pon da Replay” to 2006’s “S.O.S.” to 2007’s “Umbrella”,”Don’t Stop the Music” and “Disturbia”, to the Rated R album released in 2009 with its hits “Russian Roulette”, “Hard” and “Rude Boy” every step she has taken has been the right one. You cannot argue with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Top 100 chart, 25 million in album sales, nine Grammy Awards, eighteen Billboard Music Awards and five American Music Awards.  All this has been achieved in a mere eight years.

Her success continued with her 5th studio album entitled Loud was released in 2010.  Hit singles “Only Girl (In the World”, “What’s My Name?”, “S&M”, and “California King Bed”. It is filled with dance pop and club songs. Loud has been described as sassy, flirty and energetic.

A quick worker she has continued to release albums at a high rate.  Number six was Talk That Talk and included the singles “We Found Love”, “”Where Have You Been”. Late last year she released her 7th studio album called Unapologetic and it so far has included the singles “Diamonds”, “Stay” and “Pour it Up”.

Even after getting involved with the wrong type of man (Chris Brown, who she is dating once again) and living through domestic violence she has managed to keep her career on track. She shows she possesses the energy of the young in that once success began for her she has worked relentlessly since.
