Arctic Monkeys are an indie rock group that started off really strong with their first two album releases then sorta slowed down over the next two. This caused me to think they had captured lightening in a bottle with the first two and now were showing their true boring colours. I was wrong and Am proves that the band still has the right stuff. They are back with the pounding drums and great guitar riffs of earlier in their career. The lyrics are smart and strong. Dark moments of desperation filled with plenty of imagery. A great rock album with the requisite dark moments that are sexy in their own way and backed up by a gritty sound that still grooves. Not a track on the album that is skippable though a “Snap Out of It” would be on the lower end of the scale with “Do You Wanna Know?” and “R U Mine” being the strongest.
