Stereophonics Bring Traditional British Rock to This Side of the Pond

Stereophonics are probably the most famous rock band from (let’s say it together) Cwmaman, Wales.  Thinking about it they are the most famous anything from that part of Wales.  The boys of Stereophonics got together in 1992 so they are not Johnny come latelies.  Presently the band is made up of lead singer/guitar Kelly Jones, bass guitarist Richard Jones, drummer Jamie Morrison, and guitarist Adam Zindani.  The band has known tragedy as their original drummer, Stuart Cable, died in June 2010 in an alcoholic related death.

Their style has been described as British Rock delivered by gravelly vocals.  Over the course of their career Stereophonics have released eight studio albums.  They enjoyed an incredible five straight albums going to number one on the UK charts.  That put them in the same company as Oasis, The Beatles, U2, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Blur, and ABBA.  Another case of a band that is huge over there and flies under the radar in North America.  Now is your chance to right that wrong.  Go see this band you won’t regret it. C’mon one of their favourite band’s is Tragically Hip, so I think we owe them.

Their live shows have always been raved about.  So much so that they are in heavy demand by festivals throughout Europe.  They have played Glastonbury, Oxygen and V Festival.
