Three years ago this all female outfit were hailed as the hottest thing in Canadian country music. Now they have released their sophomore (jinx?) album and all the expectations that come along with being heralded are on their shoulders. They have addressed all the pressure by morphing or evolving into a more pop rock sounding band on Diamond Heart. The vocal harmonies are still what catch your attention about the band. You’ll be left wondering how they get their voices to mesh so perfectly. After giving the album a couple of listens through I am glad to report that they have avoided the sophomore jinx. The songs are all very listenable with “Let’s Take the Night” being one of the stronger ones. It is all very 70s classic rock band sounding a la Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. Songs filled with harmonies and catchy riffs. Universal experiences are sung about over a very appealing music.
