Winning over the hearts of the PBS crowd with a live, televised concert which coincided with the release of his self-titled debut CD, the male answer to Charlotte Church climbed his way to the top of the charts in 2001. This is how his career started and he has not touched down over the course of the last 12 years. To illustrate this point, he has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and was the number one selling musical act in the U.S. in 2007.
Josh Groban’s got a clear voice that has much depth. He certainly hits the mark with the high pitch notes and most of his musical choices show off Josh’s great vocal range. His musical style has varied over his career. In the beginning he was a classical singer then he moved on to a more folk pop sound. To make his talent even that much more sickening (kidding!), the mega-star proves to be multi-lingual, taking breaks from waxing poetic in English to sing away in French (“Hymne a l’Amour”), Spanish (“Si Volvieras a Mi”) and Italian (“Mi Mancherai”). Groban lists his musical influences as Steve Perry, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Sting, and Freddie Mercury.
