U.K. electronic duo Disclosure are hot, hot, hot. They just received several Brit Awards nominations to go with their Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album and are in the midst of a concert tour that is a hot ticket. Their show in Montreal is sold out. The duo consists of brothers Guy Lawrence (22-years-old) and Howard (19-years-old). Young, but full of talent and potential. Though they played instruments from a young age they only came on to house music and producing in their teens. In their teens they fell in love with hip hop and pop music. Though they also listened to strong songwriters like Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.
Their music is popular due to the anthemic choruses and emotional soundscapes. They formed in 2009 and began putting tracks up on MySpace. Though many in the underground scene knew of them they really came to notice with their remix of the Jessie Ware song “Running”. They followed up that success with their own track “Latch”. Now they have gained some recognition as producers on this side of the pond.
In their work, which is not typical of producers of their style of music, they like to word with vocalists. Their debut dance album is filled with vocalists. Settle was released in 2013 and has achieved commercial and critical success.
