Jean Pascal vs. Lucian Bute – Two Quebec Boxers Face Off

Quebec has always been a big boxing area.  We’ve produced our fair share of talented boxers and fans here have always supported the sport.  With the latest big bout happening at the Bell Centre this is a fight that is especially interesting to Quebec boxing fans.  Due to the fact that both boxers are local products the interest is high.  This will be the biggest fight on Canadian soil since 1980 when Roberto Duran won a 15 round fight and the world welterweight title against Sugar Ray Leonard.  Lucian Bute (31-1, 24 KOs) and Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 16 KOs) are huge stars in Quebec and at last report there was only around 2,000 seats left.

Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal will face off in this light heavyweight bout with the winner coming away with the presently vacant WBC Diamond title.  Both fighters are coming off wins with Bute beating Denis Grachev in a unanimous decision and Jean Pascal beating Aleksy Kuziemski in a unanimous decision.  Co-hosted by GYM and Interbox the fight will also be aired on HBO.
