The very first Wrestlemania took place in 1985 and it gave birth to pay-per-view wrestling events. In the name of competition in 1987 the forefather of WCW, NWA, had its first pay-per-view event called Starrcade. This blu-ray has the top twenty-one NWA/WCW pay-per-view matches from 1987 until its final one in 2001, Greed, before it was bought out by WWE.
It is while watching all these classic matches back-to-back that you realize what a full history that WCW had. Their stable of wrestlers included some of the biggest legends in the industry like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair and Steve Austin.
A disappointment about this package was the quality of the picture. It really isn’t up to blu-ray standards. Too bad. Though it did not ruin my enjoyment of the matches.
