Grand Prix de Montreal 2014

The buzz is palpable. Every year at this time the unofficial kick off to summer is the Formula One race held here in Montreal.  We are the only Canadian stop on the prestigious F1 Grand Prix circuit.  All the rich and beautiful people make their way to Montreal to take in the race and be part of the atmosphere.  Atmosphere includes not just the race but the parties, concerts and nights out at restaurants involved.  Several streets around the city (Crescent, St. Paul, etc.) are closed.  The 72 hours surrounding the race revs on high.

One thing that aficionados will notice right away is the sound of the engines.  Meaning that the cars are quieter.  A change in the engines (for green reasons) has resulted in less of a high pitch noise as they race around the track.  Some might be disappointed as they have always associated this type of racing with that ear shattering noise.  An adjustment has to be made.

We are lucky to have a race of this high calibre in Montreal.  Only 19 cities in the world can say the same.  We are part of an exclusive club.
