Though they are not as big an act as they were at the turn of the century, Linkin Park is still a band worthy of playing the open confines of Parc Jean Drapeau. Formed in 1996 in California, this rock band gained massive commercial success with the release of their first album in 2000 entitled Hybrid Theory. Meteora, released in 2003, and Minutes to Midnight, released in 2007, continued their success. Linkin Park was able to mix nu metal and rap metal while making it radio friendly. Their fourth album, A Thousand Suns was released in September of 2010 and a fifth release, Living Things, quickly ensued. Most recently they released their sixth album The Hunting Party in 2014 and it is a return to heavier sounds for the band.
Linkin Park over the course of their 18 years together has sold an impressive 50 million albums worldwide and won two Grammy Awards. They have collaborated with the likes of Jay-Z, Hans Zimmer, and Tricky. Known for their live shows, Linkin Park has toured with Cypress Hill, Snoop Dog, Metallica, Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, and Deftones.
On this same bill you get two other big bands in AFI and Thirty Seconds to Mars. Lots of bang for your buck.
