Progressive rock had it heyday in the 1970s with bands like Yes, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. A few bands like Rush, Phish and Tool continue on the tradition. A band that should be included in that list moe. Formed in Buffalo, New York in 1989, moe. consists of Rob Derhak on bass and vocals, Al Schnier on guitar, keyboards and vocals, Chuck Garvey on guitar and vocals, Jim Loughlin on percussion, and Vinnie Amico on drums. With the release of their debut album in 1992 called Fatboy they became known as a jam band.
If you are a fan of rock music then you owe it to yourself to check this band out because going to one of their live shows (their fans are called moe.rons) is like getting a lesson in rock music as they incorporate almost every trend within the genre into their songs. Also the guys in the band are really into and fully capable of improvising on any given track meaning that songs are different almost every time they play them. A big draw when they play live the band has played at such festivals as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Woodstock 1999, and Langerado Music Festival.
