A tale of oppression, what is thought to be normal and power struggles make up Johnny Legdick: A Rock Opera. Johnny Legdick is a performer in Suckadacocka’s Circus of Freaks. As he has a third leg he was sold to a circus as a child by his own parents. His life has become misery. Along with the help of his new friends, Steve the Steed and Hannah, he cooks up a plan to escape, something that has never been attempted by anyone at the Circus of Freaks.
A production put on by Playwright’s Hero and musical trio Jem, this is the third go around for the play and it is bigger and better than ever with a larger orchestra and two new songs. It is at the Centaur for a short run as part of their Wildside Festival.
More fun than a barrel of monkey and filled with catchy songs.
