Lessons in Electro Pop Courtesy of London Grammar

london grammar2Made up of vocalist Hannah Reid, guitarist Dan Rothman and keyboardist/drummer Dominic “Dot” Major, London Grammar is a British electro pop outfit that has been together since 2010.  They released their debut EP, Metal & Dust, at the beginning of 2013 and their debut full-length album, If You Wait, later that same year.

After finishing school in 2011 the trio moved to London and began playing gigs in small clubs.  Shortly they became noticed and were signed to independent record label, Ministry of Sound.  As many bands to nowadays they posted their first song, “Hey Now”, on YouTube and music fans began heaping attention on them.

Soundwise they lean towards electro pop with elements of classical and ambient music.  Combined with their dramatic lyrics and Reid’s soaring voice it makes for a rather arresting combination.
