Tune in to Mike & the Mechanics

mike and the mechanics2Mike & The Mechanics were formed in the 1980s as an offshoot band for Genesis member Mike Rutherford. They were considered to be a British supergroup as they were made up of Rutherford on bass/guitar, Paul Carrack (from Ace and Squeeze) on vocals and Paul Young (from Sad Café) on vocals. During the 1980s and 90s they had a string of big hits with songs such as, ‘All I Need Is A Miracle’ and ‘The Living Years’. In 2000 original band member Paul Young passed away, but they continued on until 2004 when they went on a hiatus.

In 2010 Mike Rutherford got the band back together with a whole new roster of musicians including Tim Howar (vocalist), Andrew Roachford (vocalist), Anthony Drennan, Luke Juby, and Gary Wallis.  They went into the studio and released an album called The Road in 2011.
